We do a lot of studying in my Shiva Yoga® 200hr Teacher Training program and the students work on a lot of creative projects together. One of the chapters in the training manual is on Lineage and how important it is to honor our teachers in yoga. We owe a big debt of gratitude to our teachers and to their teachers and to the original teachers who were trailblazers. Think of how amazing it is that we just have to follow the path that someone else has already been down. It’s incredible! It’s like my teacher — Dharma’s teacher, Yogi Gupta said, “Copy the teacher, copy the teacher, copy the teacher!” I’ve been blessed with some really incredible teachers and I’m doing my best to get out of the way and let their teachings flow through me. How do we honor our teachers and pay off our debt to them? By sharing the teachings with our students. My teacher — Dharma, says, “Being a yoga teacher is the greatest job in the world.” These practices have helped me change the direction of my life and it’s so amazing to share the same teachings and watch the transformation in others. I agree with Dharma! This is the greatest job in the world. I am often exhausted at the end of the day when I lead this program but it feels so good knowing I was being of service and helping someone else grow and experience transformation. Look at these amazing posters the students made to honor our lineage. This is a very creative group here in Cabo! Super talented.
