Great First Shiva Power Class in Suzhou Last Night!

Really fun Shiva Power class last night in Suzhou!!! I was so impressed with the level of focus of the students, and their effort and hard work, and how open and receptive they were during the class. It was an honor to teach you last night. Thank you to everyone for coming to practice with me.

I think as teachers we are always best measured by our students. The students last night showed me how much they have learned from their teachers. I was really impressed with the community after teaching this class. You are doing a great job, Nian Yoga!!! Thank you for inviting me to share with your community.

I remember practicing with my teacher @anniecarpentersmartflow years ago in Santa Monica, and her reminding us to be respectful to the teacher’s who would sub for her when she would be going out of town. I never forgot that and I would always tell my students the same thing when I started traveling. I loved when teachers who subbed for me would say to me how great my students were when they came to sub classes, how focused the students were that day, how dedicated, how open and receptive. That always made me feel like I was doing a good job as a teacher.
